Three facilities dedicated to training embodied artificial intelligence robots in Qingdao's Laoshan District have been included in the inaugural list of key construction projects announced by Shandong Province's Department of Industry and Information Technology.

Out of the 26 key embodied AI robot training sites selected for the province's first batch, eight are located in Qingdao. The three from Laoshan District are the Qingdao Public Embodied AI Robot Training Ground, the Qingdao Humanoid Robot Data Collection Training Ground, and the Qingdao Embodied Robot and Intelligent Rehabilitation Product Training and Verification Center for Health and Elderly Care.

Qingdao Public Embodied AI Robot Training Ground is situated in the Qingdao International Innovation Park. It is the country's first training platform of its kind focusing on manufacturing, home living, health and elderly care, and marine-specific scenarios, offering eight major practical training environments for comprehensive intelligent system verification.

Qingdao Humanoid Robot Data Collection Training Ground, also located in the Qingdao International Innovation Park, is Shandong's first facility dedicated to collecting data from humanoid robots. It covers industrial, household, and commercial applications, with an annual target of collecting over one million high-quality data points from actual robot operations.

Qingdao Embodied Robot and Intelligent Rehabilitation Product Training and Verification Center for Health and Elderly Care is based at No. 17 Qingda First Road in Laoshan District. This center serves as a public training and verification service platform specialized in health and elderly care scenarios, aiming to establish a full-service chain system and explore optimal "human-machine collaboration" solutions.

Training grounds for embodied AI robots are critical infrastructure for advancing the high-quality development of the robotics industry. The selection of these three projects for the provincial key list signifies a more mature industrial ecosystem for embodied AI within Laoshan District.

Currently, Laoshan District is accelerating the cultivation of its embodied AI robot industry. It has already attracted over ten companies from across the industrial chain, such as Haier Brothers Robot and Leju Zhijia. An 88,000-square-meter innovation center for embodied AI robots in Qingdao has been completed and put into operation, marking the initial formation of a specialized robotics "park within a park" and significantly enhancing the district's capacity to host this industry.
