NXP Executive Forecasts Robotics Market to Surpass $200 Billion by 2030

At the Intelligent Electric Vehicle Development High-Level Forum (2026), held from April 11th to 12th at the Beijing National Convention Center Phase II, industry leaders gathered under the theme "Advancing the Intelligent, Green, Integrated, and International Development of New Energy Vehicles." Yuan Wenbo, Vice President of NXP Semiconductors NV, delivered a speech at the event.

Yuan Wenbo stated that NXP Semiconductors NV is not solely focused on the automotive sector but is also extending its automotive industry expertise into critical areas such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and robotics. The company aims to capture opportunities from industry growth by building a sustainable industrial ecosystem.

He predicted that the global robotics market will exceed $200 billion by 2030, with its most significant growth phase beginning after that year. By around 2040, the robotics market is expected to reach a scale comparable to the global automotive market, representing a crucial strategic development direction for companies.

Yuan Wenbo also highlighted the imminent expansion of the IoT and the rise of super factories. He forecasted that the number of super factories will reach 400 by 2030, while the market size for IoT devices is projected to surpass $40 billion.
