Weichai Power Expresses Strong Confidence in Future Prospects of Heavy-Duty Truck Industry

Deep News12-18

On December 18, Weichai Power responded to investor inquiries by stating that, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) statistics, China's heavy-duty truck market sold a cumulative 1.042 million units from January to November this year, marking a 27.5% year-on-year increase. Exports accounted for 308,000 units, up 15.1% year-on-year.

Domestic demand in the heavy-duty truck industry is showing diversified energy trends, with diesel, natural gas, and pure electric powertrains demonstrating distinct advantages across different applications. Diesel and natural gas trucks meet most transportation needs, particularly excelling in long-haul scenarios, while electric trucks are better suited for medium/short-distance and fixed-route operations.

The company reaffirmed its optimistic outlook for the sector's future development, implementing multiple technological pathways to address short-, medium-, and long-term industry shifts. Key strategies include strengthening product portfolios to deliver comprehensive powertrain solutions for all scenarios, accelerating new energy vehicle (NEV) deployment with expanded product lines, and deepening overseas market penetration through product optimization and workforce coordination to capitalize on international growth opportunities.
