Deep News01-05

Recently, it was learned from the Nyingchi Municipal Health Commission that in recent years, the development of Traditional Chinese (Tibetan) Medicine in Nyingchi has yielded significant results. The diagnostic and treatment system has been continuously improved, the Tibetan medicine industry has further expanded, achievements in inheritance and innovation have been plentiful, and cultural exchanges in Tibetan medicine have steadily gained momentum, leading to a marked enhancement in overall service capacity.

To date, Nyingchi City has established a Tibetan medicine service network that covers both urban and rural areas. This network is structured with the municipal Tibetan hospital at the forefront, county (city, district) Tibetan hospitals as the main body, Tibetan medicine clinics in township health centers as the foundation, and Tibetan medicine corners in village clinics serving as supplements.

The city currently has 8 public Tibetan hospitals and 1 private Tibetan hospital. There are 409 professional technical personnel specializing in Traditional Chinese (Tibetan) Medicine. All 54 township health centers are equipped with Tibetan medicine clinics, and 216 village clinics can provide basic Tibetan medicine services.

It is understood that over 2,000 species of medicinal plants have been discovered within Nyingchi, including more than 700 common varieties and over 50 endangered Tibetan medicinal materials. This provides abundant resources for the inherited and innovative development of Traditional Chinese (Tibetan) Medicine.

Leveraging its unique geographical environment and climatic conditions, Nyingchi City is vigorously developing the Tibetan medicine industry. It is actively exploring planting models such as "enterprise + cooperative + farmer" to achieve the artificial cultivation of various Tibetan medicinal herbs.

Currently, the planting area for Traditional Chinese (Tibetan) medicinal materials in Nyingchi has exceeded 10,000 mu. The city has established the only national-level modern agricultural industrial park in the autonomous region focused primarily on Tibetan medicinal herb cultivation.

Thirty enterprises, including Cheezheng Tibetan Medicine and Ganlu Tibetan Medicine, have established roots in Nyingchi. They encompass a full-chain industrial system covering the planting, research and development, and production of Tibetan medicine. In 2024, the total output value of Tibetan medicine enterprises in the city reached 1.326 billion yuan.
