Construction Machinery Association Data: June Aerial Work Platform Rental Rate Index Hits 655 Points, Down 4.4% Year-on-Year

According to statistics from the China Construction Machinery Association, the rental rate index for aerial work platforms in June 2026 stood at 655 points. This figure was essentially flat compared to the previous month but represented a year-on-year decline of 4.4%.

Looking at the overall picture for June, the rental rate indices for different machine models showed mixed results on a monthly basis. The 30-35 meter model posted the largest increase, rising 6.4%. Conversely, the 20-24 meter model experienced the most significant monthly decline, with its rental rate index falling by 4.7%.

When compared to the same period last year, all machine models saw their rental rate indices decline in June 2026. The 14-16 meter model recorded the steepest year-on-year drop at 9.1%. In contrast, the ≤6 meter model saw the smallest year-on-year decline, remaining essentially flat. (The rental rate is calculated based on machine-day units, with 100% rental rate corresponding to 1,000 points.)

Based on reported data and statistical calculations, the rental price index for aerial work platforms in June 2026 saw a marginal monthly decline of 1.7%. Overall, the rental price indices for various machine models remained flat or declined month-on-month. The 36-39 meter model posted the largest monthly drop at 4.9%, while the monthly fluctuations for models ranging from 14 to 35 meters were generally around 1.0%.

Year-on-year, the rental price index for aerial work platforms fell by 8.5% in June 2026. All machine models experienced a year-on-year decline in their rental price indices. The 36-39 meter model recorded the most significant year-on-year decrease at 12.5%. Meanwhile, the 20-24 meter model saw the smallest year-on-year contraction, down by just 1.8%.
