On Wednesday, the semiconductor sector experienced widespread declines, with most chip stocks trading in negative territory.
Seagate Technology PLC (STX.US) saw its shares drop by more than 6%, making it one of the biggest losers in the group. Western Digital (WDC.US) followed closely, falling over 5%, while Broadcom (AVGO.US) declined nearly 5%.
Applied Materials (AMAT.US) also slid by almost 4%, and both Intel (INTC.US) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD.US) each dropped more than 3% during the trading session.
The broad-based selloff across the chip sector reflects ongoing market volatility and investor caution, as multiple industry leaders faced downward pressure on their share prices.
