Samsung's Market Cap Surpasses 2,000 Trillion Won Milestone

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. saw its market capitalization exceed 2,000 trillion won (approximately $1.32 trillion) for the first time on Monday.

Data from the Korea Exchange showed that as of 11:44 a.m., Samsung's share price on the KOSPI index reached 34,650 won, marking a gain of 9.31% from the previous trading session.

At that point, the company's total market value stood at 2,025.7 trillion won.

The chipmaking giant had previously surpassed 1,500 trillion won in market cap last month, becoming the second company in Asia, following Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), to enter the trillion-dollar valuation tier.

The Korea Exchange also noted that rival chipmaker SK Hynix Inc. had a total market capitalization of 1,689.8 trillion won at the same time on Monday.
