China Oilfield Services (02883) has disclosed that its controlling shareholder, the CNOOC Group, has been steadily increasing its holdings in the company through dual-market purchases.

On September 23, 2026, the company received formal notification from the CNOOC Group regarding two separate transactions executed on that date. The first involved the acquisition of 410,000 A-shares through the centralized bidding system on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, representing roughly 0.01% of the company's total issued share capital and costing approximately RMB 4.981 million (excluding taxes and fees). The second transaction saw the purchase of 1.85 million H-shares through on-market trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, accounting for about 0.04% of total issued shares, with an investment of around RMB 11.9151 million (excluding taxes and fees).

Following the latest moves, the CNOOC Group's overall buyback programme has now accumulated 410,000 A-shares with a total investment of approximately RMB 4.981 million, alongside 17.858 million H-shares representing a cumulative outlay of roughly RMB 92.8968 million (both figures excluding taxes and fees).

As of the date of this announcement, the CNOOC Group's aggregate ownership in China Oilfield Services stands at 2.429 billion shares. This elevates its total stake from approximately 50.53% prior to the initiation of the purchase plan to around 50.91% of the company's issued share capital.
