Alipay Executive Predicts Vehicles Will Lead as Primary Physical Medium for AI Agents in Daily Life

Deep News11:21

At the Smart Electric Vehicle Development High-Level Forum (2026) held at the Beijing National Convention Center from April 11 to 12, Han Zhenwei, General Manager of Alipay Car Life, delivered a speech. The forum's theme focused on advancing the intelligent, green, integrated, and international development of new energy vehicles.

Han Zhenwei suggested that automobiles are likely to become the first physical carriers of AI agents to enter people's daily lives. Between 2026 and 2030, an estimated 120 million new smart and connected vehicles are expected to be added, spanning various power systems. Whether new energy or traditional fuel vehicles, the penetration rate of intelligent connected cars will continue to rise. Recent data indicates that the average daily usage time of vehicle cabins, particularly smart cabins, has already exceeded 2.5 hours. This suggests that over the next five years, cars will become the largest-scale physical carriers of AI agents—not merely smart terminals, but movable, executable, and interactive agent platforms.

Regarding the evolution of AI agents within vehicle cabins, Han Zhenwei believes that AI agents are undergoing a three-stage leap from spatial intelligence to comprehensive intelligence. He emphasized that Alipay's collaboration with automakers is not about competing for control of dialogue interfaces or semantic understanding entry points for users or car owners. Instead, Alipay focuses on developing decision-making protocols behind these interfaces, translating natural language and terminal perception-based intent recognition into actionable services.
