Precious Metals Rally Across the Board, Platinum Surges Over 5%

During Wednesday's (February 25) New York late trading session, spot gold rose 0.52% to $5,171.48 per ounce, stabilizing near $5,180 for most of the day. COMEX gold futures increased 0.22% to $5,188.50 per ounce, reaching a daily high of $5,237.30 at 01:12 Beijing time. Data was unavailable for over an hour after 02:00.

Spot silver climbed 2.67% to $89.4791 per ounce. COMEX silver futures advanced 2.28% to $90.135 per ounce, with no trading occurring between 02:00 and 03:45 due to a technical failure at the CME Group.

COMEX copper futures rose 0.93% to $6.0470 per pound, climbing to $6.0675 after CME resumed trading. Spot platinum surged 5.41%, while spot palladium gained 0.85%.

The Philadelphia Gold and Silver Index closed up 0.25% at 450.53 points. The NYSE Arca Gold Miners Index increased 0.72% to 3,187.56 points during the global trading session. The Materials Index closed down 0.27%, while the Metals & Mining Index finished 1.87% higher.
