Pony AI announced that its seventh-generation Robotaxi achieved positive monthly unit economics in Shenzhen in February 2026. Following the attainment of this goal in Guangzhou last November, this marks a key breakthrough for the company in two major Chinese cities. This development signifies substantial progress in the commercial operation of Robotaxis and a continuous strengthening of the foundation for large-scale deployment. Driven by growing user demand and optimized operational efficiency, the average daily net revenue per vehicle for Pony AI's Gen-7 Robotaxi reached 338 yuan as of February 28, with an average of 23 daily rides per vehicle. By February 16, 2026, the total number of paid Robotaxi orders in Shenzhen for the year had already exceeded the total volume for the entire year of 2025. During the recent Spring Festival holiday, the average daily paid rides per vehicle reached 26, significantly higher than the national average of 15 daily rides per Robotaxi in 2025. The founder and CEO of Pony AI stated that achieving positive unit economics in Shenzhen serves as a critical validation of the company's technological maturity and commercialization strategy. Successively reaching this milestone in two first-tier Chinese cities demonstrates that autonomous ride-hailing is not only technically viable but also economically sustainable for scaled operations.
