South Korean equities extended their upward momentum on September 9, with the broader market index climbing 2%. The rally was led by major memory chipmakers, fueling sharp gains in Hong Kong-listed leveraged products tracking these tech heavyweights.

The most aggressive play on the sector, a 2x leveraged ETF focused on SK hynix, expanded its gains to 9%. A second leveraged product, tracking Samsung Electronics with 2x exposure, rose over 4% during the session. Shares of SK hynix jumped more than 4%, while Samsung Electronics advanced nearly 2% on the day.

The strength in Korean chip stocks comes amid renewed investor optimism in the semiconductor space, with the tech-heavy benchmark's outperformance providing a tailwind for related derivative products listed in Hong Kong.
