Dreame Technology CEO Yu Hao has sparked widespread discussion with his sharp criticism of the social media platform Xiaohongshu. On April 28, Yu Hao once again took to his social media account, stating: "Xiaohongshu claims it's all an algorithm issue and that they bear no responsibility. Several times when I opened Xiaohongshu, I found the first post displayed was a pinned negative review. Then I saw other posts below that did not have as many negative comments and contained plenty of praise, but these posts are virtually impossible to find unless you search carefully and scroll extensively. They say this is algorithm-based recommendation, so why is it that other platforms' recommendations include both positive and negative content, while your algorithm specifically pushes negative content to the top? Isn't this intentionally creating social conflict?"
Yu Hao further expressed: "Blaming everything on the algorithm! Why don't other platforms have this problem? Other platforms' algorithm recommendations are more neutral, showing both good and bad. Then you should make your algorithm public and let everyone see how it's written. If you can blame everything on the algorithm, then when AI arrives, you'll just blame it on AI even more. Then hide behind it while raking in money."
Yu Hao added: "I request that you make your algorithm public so we can see if there is really a problem with these recommendations. I also request that you disclose your profit model to show exactly how you make money. Within this algorithm, how do you generate tens of billions in annual profit, and what exactly is the relationship between that profit and this algorithm?"
Earlier, Dreame Technology founder and CEO Yu Hao posted multiple messages strongly criticizing the Xiaohongshu platform. "Xiaohongshu is a very, very poor platform! Its social value orientation is extremely problematic!" Yu Hao clarified that his comments were not triggered by recent negative publicity encountered by Dreame on Xiaohongshu, but rather represent his personal conclusion after long-term observation. He stated that both Xiaohongshu's value system and profit model are "highly toxic." Additionally, Yu Hao expressed that when suing rumor-spreading bloggers on the platform, Xiaohongshu itself should be jointly sued. He believes the entire industry's fear of challenging platforms has indulged them to freely push unverified false information and act recklessly.
