Corning Shares Climb Over 6% on Launch of Third-Generation Gorilla Glass Ceramic

Stock News03-02

On Monday, Corning (GLW.US), the manufacturer of Gorilla Glass, saw its shares rise more than 6% to $159.94. The company introduced its third-generation Gorilla Glass Ceramic, which features enhanced drop resistance, and it will make its debut in Motorola's upcoming Razr Fold folding device. Laboratory tests have shown that the new glass ceramic delivers excellent drop performance: it remained intact after being dropped from a height exceeding 2 meters onto a surface simulating concrete. Concrete is considered one of the most challenging impact surfaces for consumer electronic devices, and the results highlight the material's superior protective capability against everyday accidental drops.
