Beijing has issued a plan to expand its cultural and tourism offerings, with a focus on integrating advanced technologies into the sector.

The Beijing Municipal People's Government on September 28 released the "Beijing Culture and Tourism Development Plan for the 15th Five-Year Plan Period," which calls for enriching the supply of cultural and tourism products.

Under the plan, the city will continue to develop cultural and tourism products featuring its ancient capital heritage, and strengthen tourism centered on the Beijing Central Axis as a representative World Cultural Heritage site.

The plan also calls for accelerating the development of new technology-driven tourism scenarios, promoting the widespread application of Artificial Intelligence in the culture and tourism sector, along with cloud computing, virtual reality, and ultra-high-definition audio-visual technologies.

In addition, the plan seeks to cultivate new models of industrial tourism, building an industrial tourism product system with capital characteristics that integrates travel, shopping, and experiences.

The plan also aims to enrich new fashionable "guochao" tourism formats, encourage the development of creative trendy products, expand and upgrade the "Beijing Gifts" initiative, and build a fashionable tourism product system with an international style, Beijing flavor, and trendy appeal.
