Deep News04-23

On April 22, 2026, CHINA EAST EDU (00667.HK) formally signed the China-Uzbekistan Strategic Framework Agreement on Vocational Education Cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This marks a substantive step forward for CHINA EAST EDU in expanding its vocational education services overseas, promoting standard alignment, and facilitating resource sharing. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials including the Deputy Director of the Uzbek Agency for Vocational Education, the head of the agency's investment and international cooperation department, the General Manager of the Automotive Business Division of CHINA EAST EDU, and the Assistant to the Group's Chairman.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan is the central authority responsible for policy formulation, quality supervision, and licensing in higher and vocational education, as well as science and innovation. This agreement represents a significant move by the ministry to introduce international advanced experience and support the country's industrial upgrading strategy.

This signing signifies the first large-scale and systematic international expansion for CHINA EAST EDU. The group will precisely address Uzbekistan's urgent need for high-skilled talent cultivation, using vocational education cooperation as a link to support the modernization of Uzbekistan's vocational education system and contribute Chinese expertise to the local economic transformation and upgrading.

Both parties have clarified that cooperation will be carried out in areas including specialty and curriculum development, construction of practical training bases, faculty development and exchange, exploration of cooperative education models, and mutual recognition of standards and certifications.

With the rapid development of emerging industries in Uzbekistan, such as new energy vehicles and digital information technology, the collaboration aims to address the talent constraints on industrial development at the root, focusing on the high-skilled talent demands of Chinese enterprises operating in Uzbekistan. To ensure effective implementation of the cooperation, the two sides have jointly established a "China-Uzbekistan Vocational Education Cooperation Joint Working Group," responsible for coordinating the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various specific projects.

This cooperation is designed to introduce China's advanced vocational education concepts, curriculum systems, teacher training, and quality assessment standards to assist in the modernization of Uzbekistan's vocational education system. Simultaneously, it will promote exchanges between teachers and students, academic seminars, and joint research and development between China and Uzbekistan in the vocational education field. The initiative seeks to effectively translate talent advantages into developmental advantages, laying a solid foundation for the long-term sustainable economic and social development of Uzbekistan.

The signing of the strategic framework agreement not only represents an important milestone in vocational education cooperation between China and Uzbekistan but also provides a new model for international educational collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative. Both parties expressed their commitment to pragmatically advancing all cooperative content to achieve early results, jointly writing a new chapter in which vocational education serves national development and promotes mutual understanding between peoples.
