The Jintang crude oil storage and transportation base terminal project has recently obtained provincial-level approval, marking a significant achievement for Zhoushan City in optimizing and upgrading its crude oil transportation system for the petrochemical industry. The project is located in Xiaoliao, Jintang, Zhoushan City, and plans to construct two new 300,000-ton crude oil berths with an annual designed throughput capacity of 30.16 million tons. Upon completion, it will serve as a crucial support for Zhoushan's crude oil transportation network. The terminal will further enhance the supporting infrastructure for the Zhoushan Yushan Green Petrochemical Base, addressing the base's lack of independently controlled large-scale crude oil berths. It will effectively alleviate the crude oil supply pressure on existing large terminals and pipeline networks, such as Waidiao, and comprehensively improve the security and risk resilience of Zhoushan's crude oil industry chain and supply chain. Additionally, the project will significantly reduce the waiting time for very large crude carriers in Zhoushan, notably lower logistics costs for petrochemical enterprises, and provide strong momentum for building a world-class port of high quality. From project application to approval, the Zhoushan Port, Shipping, and Port Authority maintained full commitment and active efforts throughout the process. A dedicated task force was established to conduct frequent reports and coordination with national ministries and provincial departments, successfully integrating the project into the "Ningbo-Zhoushan Port Master Plan (2035)." At the same time, efforts secured a one-time approval from the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Transport for two very large crude carrier berth shoreline allocations by the end of 2025, laying a solid foundation for the project's provincial-level approval. "Moving forward, we will continue to deepen follow-up services, strictly implement phased work plans, and collaborate with relevant departments to accelerate various approval processes, fully supporting the project's smooth commencement," said a relevant official from the Planning Department of the Zhoushan Port, Shipping, and Port Authority.
