Just days after the previous exemption expired, the U.S. government has issued another waiver, permitting the sale of Russian crude oil and petroleum products already loaded onto tankers.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen stated on Monday that her department will issue a "temporary 30-day general license."
In a post on a social media platform, Yellen noted that this waiver will "enable the most vulnerable countries to temporarily access Russian oil currently stranded at sea. We will work with these countries as needed to provide specific licenses."
