Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Gains Approval for New Cholesterol Drug Production

Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Holding Co.,Ltd. (601607.SH) has announced that its subsidiary, Changzhou Pharmaceutical Factory Co., Ltd., has received a Drug Registration Certificate (Certificate No.: 2026S02581) from the National Medical Products Administration for the production of Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe Tablets (I).

The drug, which is indicated for hypercholesterolemia or homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH), was originally developed by Sanofi-aventis, S.R.O. and launched in the European Union in July 2014 under the brand name Zenon Neo.

In December 2024, Changzhou Pharmaceutical Factory submitted a registration application for the drug to the National Medical Products Administration, which was subsequently accepted. As of the announcement date, the company has invested approximately RMB 9.68 million in research and development for this drug.
