Kaiyue Motorcycle apologized on the evening of April 1 for controversy sparked by a live-stream title, clarifying that the company never intended to deny Zhang Xue's role as the soul of the brand. The firm stated, "Our title was never aimed at any individual, nor did it intend to negate Zhang Xue's contributions," and offered a sincere apology for any misunderstanding caused by insufficiently precise wording.

However, Kaiyue also emphasized in its statement that the success of its 350RR model is the result of collective efforts from all team members, noting that championships are never the achievement of a single person.

The controversy arose on March 28 and 29, after Zhang Xue Motorcycle secured back-to-back victories at the Portimão Circuit in Portugal. Multiple official store accounts of Kaiyue Motorcycle used the live-stream title, "We were already champions before you arrived," prompting speculation among netizens. Many questioned in comment sections whether the title was indirectly targeting Zhang Xue Motorcycle.

Kaiyue explained that the title was a response to malicious comments downplaying the brand’s past achievements, aiming to reaffirm that Kaiyue has also previously won championships representing Chinese brands.
