The Japanese Yen experienced a sudden and sharp strengthening during trading, triggering a broad sell-off in major non-USD currencies against the Yen.
Specific currency pairs moved rapidly lower. The British Pound slid nearly 80 points against the Yen, while the Euro fell more than 60 points. The Swiss Franc dropped close to 60 points, the Canadian Dollar lost nearly 50 points, and the Australian Dollar declined by approximately 40 points against the Yen.
