At the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) held in Shanghai, Otis Worldwide Corp showcased its latest AI-driven innovations in elevator technology. The event featured participation from 4,108 international exhibitors across 155 countries and regions, with global manufacturing leaders presenting cutting-edge solutions.

During the expo, Lucy Luo, Executive Vice President of Otis and President of Greater China, highlighted the company’s AI advancements. “This year, we introduced a suite of AI solutions, including the Otis Inspection Embodied Agent, AI Smart Agent, and the Smart Cab II elevator system, all designed to enhance the safety, intelligence, and efficiency of vertical transportation,” she stated.

Otis has also established its largest global R&D center in China, focusing on digital and IoT solutions. Luo emphasized the locally developed Gen3™ Comfort smart elevator, tailored for retrofitting older residential buildings.

She noted that China’s commitment to high-level openness and urban modernization aligns with Otis’ mission to foster connectivity in a “higher, faster, and smarter” world. With over 11 million elevators operating in China—including 900,000 aged over 15 years—Luo sees both challenges in safety and energy efficiency and significant modernization opportunities. “Otis is building an end-to-end smart elevator ecosystem in China, linking customers and regulators to elevate passenger experience and safety,” she added.
