The first batch of the Deepal L06 extended-range model, designated as a "People's Car," has officially begun production at the Chongqing Changan Digital Intelligence Factory. The vehicles are now being shipped nationwide, with comprehensive reservations now open. The official price of the new model is scheduled to be announced on April 23.
"When we launched the first People's Car, we received significant feedback from users expressing a desire for a sedan priced below 150,000 yuan, suitable for both young commuters and self-drive tours," stated a marketing executive from JD's automotive division. In terms of exterior design, the new vehicle features a low-slung, dynamic profile with smooth, flowing lines that convey a strong sports car aesthetic. For intelligent features, the car is equipped with lidar. Its one-stage, end-to-end algorithm enables full-scenario intelligent assisted driving, significantly enhancing both convenience and safety. The cabin system utilizes the industry's first 3nm automotive-grade cockpit chip, ensuring exceptionally smooth operation and providing ample room for future upgrades. Regarding handling, the Deepal L06 extended-range model surpasses its class by featuring a magnetorheological electromagnetic suspension system, the same technology used in 3 million RMB Ferraris, capable of making thousands of high-frequency adjustments per second. For range and energy consumption, the new car offers a pure electric range of 245 km (under CLTC conditions) and a comprehensive range of up to 1,505 km (CLTC). Its fuel consumption when the battery is depleted is as low as 3.46 L/100 km (NEDC conditions). The Deepal L06 extended-range model is manufactured at the Changan Digital Intelligence Factory, which represents Changan Automobile's largest investment and its most intelligent new energy vehicle production base. The final assembly workshop has established the industry's first AI-powered quality inspection platform covering the entire vehicle production process. It incorporates 26 quality checkpoints, achieving a modeled and standardized system from data collection to real-time feedback. The battery pack workshop maintains a cleanliness level of class 1 million and employs technologies such as plasma cleaning, laser cleaning, and "directional airflow" to control the product defect rate to the PPB (parts per billion) level. The integrated die-casting workshop is equipped with four 7000-ton integrated die-casting machines. These can consolidate 163 parts into just 2, achieving weight reduction while ensuring higher structural performance. Furthermore, it is the first in the industry to implement an integrated process for automated grinding, inspection, and vision for large die-cast components, achieving a 100% automation rate. It also pioneers the industry's first flexible production line for assembling the front compartment and rear floor for three different vehicle models, with 100% automation and a line efficiency of 60 jobs per hour, leading the industry. Notably, the partnership has achieved a new breakthrough in vehicle delivery. JD's automotive division has already established "JD People's Car Delivery Centers" in over 20 cities. These centers work alongside Deepal 4S stores to better serve customers by providing test drives and delivery services. JD plans to build more of these delivery centers within the year. Additionally, the partners have innovatively launched the "Open Departure" deep test drive experience, currently available in the Jinan area. This service allows users to enjoy an at-home test drive lasting up to 120 minutes. The "Open Departure" deep test drive service is planned for subsequent rollout in more regions.
