MEDBOT-B achieves 200th global installation of “Toumai” surgical robot, leads domestic peers in 2026 deployments

Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. (MEDBOT-B) announced that its core product, the Toumai Laparoscopic Surgical Robot, has reached 200 commercial installations worldwide, all of which have passed customer acceptance. The milestone follows more than 300 cumulative commercial orders for Toumai.

According to publicly available market data cited by the company, Toumai ranks first among domestic brands and second globally for new commercial installations year-to-date. Installations now span more than 60 countries and regions.

Overseas highlights • Spain has emerged as one of Toumai’s fastest-growing European markets, with nearly 10 installations completed in 1H26 and the highest number of new installations among all brands in the country. • Toumai is the world’s first and only surgical robot approved for remote surgery indications in the European Union, and has active orders and remote-surgery programs in Belgium, Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland and Serbia. • MEDBOT-B has set up nearly 20 clinical and training centres outside China to support international adoption.

Mainland China progress Toumai has been installed in four of the five highest-ranked hospitals nationwide and enjoys broad coverage across national, regional and provincial medical centres, maintaining the lead in total domestic installations.

Ecosystem development The group has built a global robotic-surgery ecosystem covering equipment deployment, clinical training, professional certification, medical education and full-cycle service support. Expansion of installations and the clinical network is expected to accelerate entry into additional countries, regions and healthcare institutions.
