Saudi Aramco Resumes Crude Loading at Ras Tanura Port After Four-Month Halt

Deep News06-26

Shipping data indicates that Saudi Aramco recommenced crude oil loading operations at the Ras Tanura terminal in the Persian Gulf on Friday, following a suspension of nearly four months.

The information shows two Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) were loading crude at the terminal, with an additional vessel waiting nearby. Each VLCC has a capacity to hold two million barrels of oil.

Data reveals that the previous crude shipment from Ras Tanura Port by Saudi Aramco occurred on March 8. Prior to this resumption, the company had redirected all its exports to the Yanbu port on the Red Sea due to vessel traffic being blocked from entering or leaving the Persian Gulf. This blockade was a result of Iran sealing off the Strait of Hormuz during a period of conflict.

Following the establishment of a provisional ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, oil-producing nations in the Middle East have been incrementally raising their production and export volumes.
