Data from DiDi Global Inc. revealed that ride-hailing demand reached its peak on September 30 at 6 PM, with approximately 2,000 users simultaneously requesting rides per second on the platform during the pre-holiday rush.
On the day before the holiday period, top destinations included dining and shopping entertainment venues, as well as major transportation hubs like airports and train stations, accounting for 43% of total daily ride requests. Pre-booked cross-city travel demand surged 56% year-over-year and jumped 241% compared to regular weekdays.
The trend of "holiday head starts and off-peak travel" was particularly pronounced, with ride demand during non-peak hours rising significantly by 18% compared to the same period last year, helping to alleviate pre-holiday traffic congestion to some extent.
