PCB concept stocks remained active in trading. At the time of writing, VGT (02476) rose 3.61% to HK$4.53; DELTON (01989) increased 2.98% to HK$1.972; and KB LAMINATES (01888) gained 2.49%, trading at HK$5.755.
According to reports, Guangdong KB LAMINATES Sales Co., Ltd. issued a price increase notice to its customers. The notice stated, "Due to persistently high copper prices and continuous increases in glass cloth prices coupled with tightening supply, effective immediately for new orders, we will adjust the prices of the following materials: board materials will increase by 10%, and PP materials will increase by 20%." Sources indicate that due to significant rises in raw material costs, downstream customers of KINGBOARD HLDG currently have no room for price negotiations, and a unified selling price is being implemented for all clients. Notably, KB LAMINATES had already announced price hikes twice within April this year.
Additionally, Morgan Stanley recently released a research report dissecting the bill of materials for the rack of NVIDIA's next-generation AI server architecture, the Rubin platform (VR200NVL72). According to Morgan Stanley's calculations, a hyperscale cloud provider purchasing a Rubin VR200 NVL72 rack through an ODM costs approximately $7.8 million, nearly double the $3.99 million price of the GB300. Among all downstream components of AI servers, PCB value saw a relatively high increase this time. The PCB value per Rubin rack rose from $35,100 for the GB300 to $116,700, marking a 233% increase. This increment is primarily attributed to the addition of new modules and comprehensive upgrades to existing specifications.
