Lai Si Enterprise ESG Report 2025: GHG Intensity Down 3%, Carbon-Neutral Roadmap Targets 2050

Bulletin Express04-29

Lai Si Enterprise Holding Limited has released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, detailing marked progress on climate action, resource efficiency and workforce management across its renovation and construction operations in Macau and Hong Kong.

ESG GOVERNANCE AND RISK • The Board remains the highest decision-making body on sustainability, directing an ESG Working Group led by the Chairman and overseen by the Audit Committee. • Climate-related risks—typhoons, flooding and tighter carbon regulation—have been embedded in the corporate risk framework, with scenario analysis referenced to IPCC and NGFS pathways.

CLIMATE & RESOURCE TARGETS • New quantitative goals aim to cut Scope 1+2 greenhouse-gas (GHG) intensity, energy intensity and water intensity by 3 % by 2030 (FY 2024 baseline). • Long-term ambition: carbon-neutral operations and value chain by 2050.

2025 ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE • Scope 1+2 emissions totalled 59.10 tCO₂e, lowering intensity to 0.384 tCO₂e per employee (-3 % year on year). • Total energy use was 125.00 MWh; intensity improved 1 % to 0.811 MWh per employee despite workforce growth. • Water consumption held steady at 667 m³, with intensity down 4 % to 4.331 m³ per employee. • Non-hazardous waste rose 14.56 % to 2,884.70 t, reflecting renovation phases that generated more construction debris; no hazardous waste was recorded.

SUPPLY-CHAIN & OPERATIONS • Supplier base expanded to 775 vendors (up 6.9 %); 19 hold ISO 9001/14001/45000 certifications. • Green-procurement protocols aligned with ISO 14001 prioritise environmentally certified suppliers; one Hong Kong vendor met all new green criteria this year.

HUMAN CAPITAL & SAFETY • Headcount reached 154, with a 24 % turnover rate. • Zero work-related fatalities for a third consecutive year; four injuries resulted in 219 lost workdays. • Training reached 36 % of employees, averaging 0.78 training hours per capita. • No breaches of labour, safety or anti-corruption regulations were reported.

COMMUNITY & SOCIAL INVESTMENT • Charitable donations increased 41 % to MOP 0.17 million, benefiting local youth and construction-industry organisations. • Senior management-led initiatives engaged 37 schools and more than 420 students in Greater Bay Area development forums.

OUTLOOK Management will expand climate-risk metrics, explore renewable-energy procurement and strengthen low-carbon supply-chain partnerships, while planning further capital outlays for energy-efficient equipment and site resilience.
