In the Han-Shan District Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Base, Chen Chun is monitoring live data at his company, Wuzhou Cross-Border (Handan) Technology Co., Ltd. A Saudi consumer has just placed an order for square-head bolts made in Yongnian. This scene is a familiar part of the daily routine for this post-85s cross-border e-commerce entrepreneur.
From diving into the blue ocean of cross-border e-commerce in 2019 to returning to his hometown with extensive experience in 2026, Chen Chun has spent nearly seven years building a bridge for "Made in Handan" products to reach overseas markets.
Starting as a novice, Chen Chun entered the fast-growing cross-border e-commerce sector in 2019 and joined the Amazon platform. Without templates, stable channels, or a complete supply chain, he learned everything from scratch—platform rules, overseas markets, and product development. He said, "Popular products aren't a lucky guess; they come from analyzing data daily to understand what users want." Gradually, he developed a method driven by process and data, quantifying steps like product selection, testing, and advertising to treat e-commerce like a math problem.
Between 2023 and 2025, he incubated several high-quality home cleaning stores with monthly sales over 100,000. He also established a full chain for home decorative paintings, producing and selling 300,000 to 500,000 pieces annually. Focusing on Yongnian's fasteners, he tailored product specifications and packaging for DIY enthusiasts and professional construction workers overseas, helping Handan's hardware products expand internationally.
Chen Chun noted that many enterprises in Handan produce high-quality fasteners and agricultural products from Daming, Shexian, but lack knowledge of overseas platform rules. This year, he led his team back to start Wuzhou Cross-Border (Handan) Technology Co., Ltd., targeting dual growth: self-operated cross-border retail and empowering local industry clusters. In May, the company signed an agreement to enter the Shenzhen Qianhai Digital Trade Han-Shan District Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Base, focusing on industrial products, agricultural specialties, and cultural creative items.
To address the challenges of small fastener enterprises, Chen Chun offers free cross-border training, teaching factory owners to analyze backend data and manage operations independently. Wuzhou Cross-Border leverages its in-house design team to blend Chinese aesthetics with foreign tastes, creating home and cultural products with Handan characteristics. The company also integrates logistics, customs clearance, and intellectual property services to provide packaged solutions, reducing costs and compliance issues for small businesses entering international markets.
To date, factories incubated by Chen Chun's team across Hebei Province have achieved zero breakthroughs in cross-border sales, with some seeing online export ratios rise by over 40%. These enterprises have shifted from purely domestic sales to a dual-channel model of domestic and cross-border e-commerce, upgrading product design and quality standards.
Chen Chun emphasizes that products cannot be directly listed online; sizes and packaging must be adapted to foreign preferences. Daily, weekly, and monthly traffic and conversion data must be reviewed, with a focus on advertising ROI. He uses Amazon for branding and premium products, while TEMU and SHEIN cover volume and scale for different customer tiers.
Now, Wuzhou Cross-Border has become a leading cross-border e-commerce company in Handan, recognized as a benchmark case in the province. Chen Chun continues to invest in design and R&D to create more local original brands, expand into European and Southeast Asian markets, and aims to help 1,000 factories go global within three years. He plans to replicate the "self-operated growth + industry empowerment" model across Hebei's suitcase, textile, and handicraft sectors, supporting the "Jihuo Going Global" strategy. Additionally, Wuzhou Cross-Border intends to partner with vocational schools to offer practical courses, nurturing local talent. With skilled people and capable enterprises, industry clusters can enhance competitiveness, ensuring "Made in Handan" and "Made in Hebei" not only reach global markets but also establish a strong presence.
