Amazon’s Prime Day sales rose almost 12% in the first seven hours of the event compared with the same period last year, according to Momentum Commerce, which manages 50 brands in a variety of product categories.

Shopify is expected to see "solid" revenue growth in the coming years amid steady share gains in the e-commerce industry and disciplined expense spending, BofA Securities said Tuesday.

The firm upgraded its rating on the Shopify stock to buy from neutral and raised its price objective to $82 from $78. The company's US-listed shares were up 9% in Tuesday trade.

There are 274,164 Shopify option contracts traded, 3.5 times higher than the 90-day average trading volume. Call options account for 83% of overall option trades. Particularly high volume was seen for the $70 strike call option expiring July 19, with 37,798 contracts trading.
