Inner Mongolia Implements Multiple Measures to Promote High-Quality Development in the Catering Industry

Deep News12-01

In recent years, Inner Mongolia has actively implemented national policies to expand domestic demand and boost consumption, driving the high-quality development of its catering industry. The goal is to shift from merely "eating enough" to "eating well," and from "having food" to "experiencing culture" and "building confidence" through culinary experiences.

The region has introduced a series of targeted measures to enhance the industry's development level, strengthen growth momentum, and optimize the business environment. These efforts have significantly advanced the sector's high-quality growth. To date, 13 local catering brands have been recognized as regional time-honored brands, while over 80 culinary heritage projects have been listed as representative intangible cultural heritage items at the autonomous region level.

Additionally, talent development in the industry has been reinforced, with vocational colleges adding catering-related programs and expanding vocational training. Industry standards have been further refined, and smart supervision has shown notable results.

The "Taste Inner Mongolia" campaign has become a key platform for promoting catering consumption, integrating resources from businesses, associations, and online-offline channels. Leveraging holidays and major events like sports competitions, the region has hosted more than 600 themed activities, including the Saishang Old Street Music & Food Festival, Hengshu Street Food Carnival, Grassland Hot Pot Festival, and Shaomai Food Season, attracting over 20,000 participating businesses.

Notable local culinary brands such as "Warm City Flavors," "Hulunbuir Hot Pot," "Tongliao Beef," "Baotou Hot Pot Festival," and "Wuhai Banquet" have been successfully cultivated. The integration of catering with events like the "Meng Super League" has fostered a model where "events attract visitors, tourism retains them, and consumption follows," linking dining experiences with ticket-based economies.

The "catering + e-commerce" model continues to deepen, with livestream sales and other new business formats effectively stimulating fresh consumption momentum.

Furthermore, the Inner Mongolia Department of Commerce encourages local catering enterprises to expand nationally, adopting innovative development concepts to transform business strategies and tap into end-consumer markets. Support is provided for businesses to participate in international expos such as the China International Consumer Products Expo, China International Fair for Investment & Trade, and China International Import Expo, enhancing the reputation and influence of Inner Mongolia's catering brands.
