The European Commission announced on Tuesday that it has approved the sale of a majority stake in BASF's coatings business to private equity firm Carlyle Group.
In its statement, the Commission noted that the approval is conditional on Carlyle fully implementing its commitments. These commitments include divesting Nouryon's global polysulfide business to a suitable buyer.
