Elon Musk stated on X that xAI will no longer operate as an independent company and will be renamed SpaceXAI, becoming an artificial intelligence product under SpaceX. Musk made this announcement in response to a post by Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt regarding an agreement between SpaceX and Anthropic. According to previous reports, Anthropic will gain access to over 300 megawatts of computational resources from SpaceX's large data center, "Colossus 1." Additionally, Anthropic has expressed interest in collaborating with SpaceX to develop several gigawatts of orbital AI computing capacity.
