Recently, in Fangbang Village, Huangqiao Subdistrict, Xiangcheng District, Suzhou, a series of warm services have been launched for new employment groups, including delivery personnel from partnered sites like Dingdong (Cayman) Limited. This initiative is part of the subdistrict's innovative "Community Sentiment & Policy Express Channel" project, allowing frontline couriers to genuinely feel the warmth of grassroots governance.
From a One-Time Event to a Sustained Connection
At a recent free haircut event, volunteer barbers skillfully trimmed the hair of delivery workers in a friendly atmosphere. This heartwarming scene was made possible by the "Express Channel" project. Through the partnership between Fangbang Village and the Dingdong (Cayman) Limited site, the village quickly learned about the practical need for haircuts among site staff and promptly organized this on-site service. "We are usually busy with deliveries and rarely have the chance to communicate directly with the village," said a representative from the Dingdong site. "Through this partnership mechanism, we can not only provide timely feedback on our needs but also be the first to learn about various service information and policy updates from the subdistrict and village (community)."
From Service Recipients to Governance Partners
The service goes beyond just "delivering"; it focuses on "connecting." Fangbang Village also held a face-to-face forum with the Huangqiao site of SF Express to break down information barriers. During the meeting, couriers, based on their daily delivery experiences, offered practical suggestions such as optimizing residential gateways and adding temporary rest stops. Staff recorded each point, provided on-the-spot responses, and made arrangements for follow-up. Today, these new business format sites are no longer "outsiders" to the village (community). Their employees are not only "ferrymen" serving residents' daily lives but also contributors living within the jurisdiction. Through the Express Channel project, a regular two-way communication channel has been established. Policy services can be quickly delivered to the sites, and frontline appeals can be promptly fed back to the village (community), truly realizing a shift from "one-way service" to "partnership co-governance."
Building a Two-Way "Information Expressway"
The "Community Sentiment & Policy Express Channel" project establishes a fixed liaison mechanism between the village (community) and sites within its jurisdiction, such as courier services, food delivery, and fresh produce delivery. This ensures the timely communication of policy information, rapidly conveying details on public services, employment support, healthcare, cultural and sports activities, and other livelihood matters to the sites and their staff. It also collects difficulties and suggestions encountered by sites and staff during daily operations, forming effective feedback loops. This allows for a timely understanding of the practical needs of new employment groups and provides targeted care and support. A pair of scissors trims away the fatigue of the奔波, leaving behind refreshment and comfort. A mechanism breaks down communication barriers and builds connections. Moving forward, Huangqiao Subdistrict will continue to deepen this project, fostering a change in the relationship between villages (communities) and new employment groups from being "neighbors" to becoming "close," and from "interaction" to "mutual assistance," jointly drawing a同心圆 for grassroots governance.
