On the evening of November 19, DiDi Global Inc. launched its 7th "DiDi Driver Festival" across 17 cities in China. At the main event in Shenzhen, Cheng Wei, Founder and CEO of DiDi, delivered a video speech.
Cheng Wei stated that the Driver Festival was established to recognize and motivate drivers who work diligently to provide quality service. The platform also uses this opportunity to share its annual progress and make improvements based on driver feedback. This year, DiDi introduced the "Decade Driver Incentive Program" to honor 100 drivers who have partnered with the platform for over ten years, encouraging more outstanding drivers to emerge as role models and drive industry advancement.
Sun Shu, CEO of DiDi's ride-hailing platform and Head of the Driver Ecosystem Development Committee, emphasized during the event, "Income is drivers' top concern. Only by excelling in service, innovation, and quality can we boost passenger demand and grow the market together." He highlighted DiDi's innovative efforts, such as DiDi Light, Premium Express, Charters, and Pet-Friendly Rides, to meet diverse passenger needs and enhance travel consumption, ensuring drivers earn better income through superior service.
Sun also announced DiDi's commitment to expanding driver welfare initiatives. "Drivers facing adversity remain resilient and optimistic, earning our deepest respect. The DiDi Care Public Welfare Program will continue its mission," he said. DiDi aims to become a more responsible and trustworthy platform.
Launched in 2018 with support from DiDi, the China Red Cross Foundation, and the Beijing DiDi Public Welfare Foundation, the "DiDi Care Public Welfare Program" has increased its efforts this year, assisting over 2,500 driver families affected by serious illnesses, accidents, or emergencies.
In 2025, DiDi upgraded its "Driver Protection Plan 2.0," enhancing driver rights and benefits across four areas: income security, welfare support, rights protection, and feedback mechanisms.
