Tesla Aims for Nationwide Rollout of Full Self-Driving by Year-End

Deep News05-18

Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced via video link at the Smart Mobility Summit in Tel Aviv on the 18th that following its deployment in Texas, Tesla plans to expand the operation of fully autonomous vehicles without human safety drivers across the United States later this year.

Currently, Tesla has launched robotaxi services in Austin, Dallas, and Houston, Texas. Musk revealed that the autonomous vehicles currently operating in Texas are functioning without human safety drivers, a model set to be extended nationwide within the year. In November last year, Tesla secured a permit to operate ride-hailing services in Arizona.

Musk remains optimistic about the long-term adoption of autonomous driving technology. He predicts that within the next 5 to 10 years, approximately 90% of global driving mileage will be handled by the artificial intelligence systems of autonomous vehicles. A decade from now, human-driven cars will become a rare "niche activity." He further stated that in about 10 years, humanoid robots will be ubiquitous, with their high productivity expected to drive economic growth and achieve "universal high income."
