On February 27, Xiaomi founder, Chairman, and CEO Lei Jun conducted a live broadcast from the Xiaomi automotive factory, discussing the safety framework of Xiaomi's vehicles with several technical experts.
During the session, Lei Jun revealed that the new-generation Xiaomi SU7 has undergone numerous safety upgrades. These include the use of 2200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel, an upgrade to nine airbags across all models, the addition of bulletproof coating on the battery pack underside, and the standard inclusion of LiDAR to enhance safety redundancy. Additionally, the vehicle's driving stability and braking performance have been improved.
The Xiaomi SU7 also features triple-redundant door handles as standard, equipped with mechanical structures and backup power supplies. This allows both interior and exterior mechanical opening, ensuring door safety by enabling electric or mechanical unlocking.
