Exclusive | Moutai's New "Year of the Horse" Zodiac Liquor to Launch in Mid-February Next Year

Deep News2025-12-25

On December 25, it was exclusively learned that Kweichow Moutai has confirmed the production of a new series of zodiac-themed liquors, with the first release being the "Year of the Horse" edition.

An internal employee revealed, "The zodiac Moutai will be announced in early to mid-January, with sales starting in mid-February." The exact timeline remains subject to official confirmation.

Notably, three different versions of the "Year of the Horse" Moutai have been circulating online. The employee dismissed these rumors, stating, "There have been many baseless speculations in the past. Online leaks are highly unreliable."

Moutai's first cycle of zodiac liquors has now completed a full 12-year rotation, starting with the "Year of the Horse" edition and ending with the "Year of the Snake" release. Market recognition remains strong, with the current price of the Snake Year edition at 2,390 yuan per bottle (original box). Due to limited production, the Horse Year edition commands a premium, with single bottles priced at 14,400 yuan.

Meanwhile, recent reports of Moutai's production control policy and the approaching Lunar New Year peak season have driven a sharp price surge for both Feitian Moutai and Premium Moutai over the past five days.

Feitian Moutai's retail price has risen from a low of 1,816 yuan to 1,825 yuan per bottle. Premium Moutai saw an even steeper increase, jumping from 2,281 yuan to 2,366 yuan—a nearly 4% gain in five days. Notably, on December 24 and 25, Premium Moutai recorded consecutive daily spikes of 32 yuan and 53 yuan per bottle, respectively.
