In the first nine months of this year, its rail freight volume exceeded 1.94 million tons.
At a pre-positioned workshop at Liuzhou Railway Port, workers were seen packaging and boxing rows of auto chassis and other parts, which will then be transferred through in-port logistics and loaded directly onto trains for shipment to their destinations.
The latest data show that from January to September this year, Liuzhou Railway Port sent 1.9456 million tons of goods by rail, 1.88 times the full-year volume of 2025; container shipments reached 17,000 TEUs, 22 times the full-year level of 2025.
Along with the rapid growth of container business, local new energy vehicles have also achieved large-scale, regular rail shipments, and can reach ASEAN and global markets directly through rail-sea intermodal transport.
Liuzhou Railway Port is a large hub inland port for Liuzhou's connection to the Pinglu Canal, the Beibu Gulf and the Greater Bay Area, and an important hub platform for high-level joint construction of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor. At present, Liuzhou Railway Port is further improving its multimodal transport system and deeply aligning with the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt.
Qi Jianfeng, director of the Development and Reform Bureau of Liunan District, Liuzhou City: In the next step, we will expand the "single-document" and "single-container" service models, making the hub's pulling and driving role toward the sea stronger and smoother. In the future, based on the development of the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt, industries suited to the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt will also be laid out in Liuzhou.
