China Unicom (CHINA UNICOM, 00762; China United Network Communications Limited, 600050) announced a leadership reshuffle on November 19, 2025. According to an official statement, Dong Xin has been appointed as Chairman and Party Secretary of China Unicom Group, replacing Chen Zhongyue.
The decision was announced at a meeting attended by mid-level and senior management, with representatives from the Central Organization Department overseeing the transition. Dong Xin previously served as Vice Minister of the National Radio and Television Administration and has now been relieved of those duties. The appointment follows standard legal and regulatory procedures.
Chen Zhongyue stepped down as Chairman and Director on October 29, 2025, due to work reassignment. His resignation took immediate effect, and he will no longer hold any position within the company.
In its financial report, China Unicom posted revenue of 293 billion yuan for the first three quarters of 2025, marking a 1.0% year-on-year increase. Total profit reached 24.6 billion yuan, with net profit attributable to shareholders rising 5.2% to 8.8 billion yuan.
