Goldman Sachs Asset Management Appoints James Peagam as Co-Head of Asia Pacific Client Solutions Team

Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) has appointed James Peagam as Co-Head of its Asia Pacific Client Solutions team.

Peagam will join the firm as a partner and will work closely with Ronald Lee, Head of Asia Pacific for Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management, and Kenro Tsutsumi, Head of Goldman Sachs Asset Management Japan.

A company spokesperson confirmed that Peagam will be based in Hong Kong. His new role will focus on managing the firm's partnerships with asset owner clients and expanding the team's presence in the region.

He will assume the role from Mike Siegel, who will continue as Global Head of Insurance Asset Management and Liquidity Solutions in New York. Siegel will oversee a transition of his Asia Pacific management responsibilities, which is expected to conclude by the end of 2026.

Peagam was previously at J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM), where he served on the operating committee and was responsible for global insurance solutions and Asia Pacific institutional business.

Prior to that role, he worked in BlackRock's Financial Institutions Group for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Earlier in his career, he held a position at ABN AMRO.

At the start of his career, Peagam served in several field engineering roles, working on infrastructure projects in South Africa, West Africa, and the United Kingdom.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Surveying Engineering from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Business Administration in Finance.
