Spring Spending Trends Blossom, Painting a Rosy Picture for China's Economy

During the clear and bright Qingming Festival holiday, many people ventured outdoors to enjoy the spring blossoms and scenery. Cities such as Suqian in Jiangsu and Fuyang in Anhui have introduced innovative cultural and tourism experiences, extending consumption chains and allowing visitors to immerse themselves in springtime activities.

With warm spring breezes, flower viewing and outings are in full swing. In Suqian, Jiangsu, local authorities have leveraged floral attractions to precisely match market demand, launching an immersive two-day, one-night "Spring Micro-getaway" experience that has drawn large numbers of tourists. At a local rural resort, pear trees are in full bloom. Visitors gather in small groups to take photos among the flowers, capturing the beauty of spring, while others sit together enjoying spring tea and lakeside views in a relaxing atmosphere.

By accurately identifying the demand for "light travel and deep experience," the area has developed five themed activities—viewing spring flowers, tasting spring tea, drinking flower-infused beverages, wearing traditional costumes for photos, and sampling floral snacks—connecting dining, accommodation, and entertainment into a seamless consumption experience. This approach transforms what might have been a half-day casual visit into a fulfilling two-day micro-vacation.

Meanwhile, along the Huai River in Funan County, Fuyang City, Anhui, more than 5,000 acres of rapeseed flowers have reached peak bloom. Capitalizing on this natural scenery, the locality has developed a "flower viewing plus" tourism model, boosting holiday consumption. Stretches of golden blossoms attract residents and tourists alike, who stroll through the fields, take pictures, and immerse themselves in the pastoral landscape along the Huai River.
