ABC Targets Sustained Growth with County-Level Loans Set to Surpass 40% of Total Portfolio

At the 2026 interim results conference held on August 28th, Agricultural Bank Of China Limited (ABC) President Wang Zhiheng outlined the bank's strategic emphasis on rural revitalization and agricultural modernization. He noted that ABC has been closely following the pace of agricultural and rural development, consistently expanding its support for farming and rural communities.

Aligned with the "15th Five-Year Plan" initiatives for building a strong agricultural sector and comprehensive rural revitalization, the bank views county regions as a critical arena for unlocking effective credit demand. By coordinating both the volume and pricing of its "Three Rural" (agriculture, rural areas, and farmers) business, ABC aims to steadily enhance the contribution of these operations, striving to solidify county-level loans at 40% of the total portfolio and drive further growth.

Wang Zhiheng detailed four key priorities for the upcoming period. First, ABC will elevate services to the "Three Rural" sector as its highest strategic priority, boosting financial supply for key rural revitalization fields and agricultural business entities. Second, it will refine its financial product and service systems to align with the goals of agricultural and rural modernization.

Third, the bank is committed to strictly maintaining risk compliance in its county-level operations, reinforcing controls over agriculture-related risks. Fourth, it will strengthen the institutional safeguards for its "Three Rural" financial business division, with plans to relocate and establish 200 township-level branches this year to further extend county-level financial services.
