Lenovo's AI Workmate Concept Device Debuts with On-Demand Task Handling and Rapid File Analysis

Deep News03-03

The Mobile World Congress 2026 is currently underway. At the event, Lenovo unveiled its AI Workmate concept device featuring integrated Lenovo Qira technology. According to demonstrations, the device can be instantly activated when needed, carrying full contextual awareness to move seamlessly across different devices. Users no longer need to repeat instructions just given on a computer when switching to their phone.

Within authorized permissions, Qira can interpret both on-screen content and conversational context. For example, when a lengthy webpage is open, users can simply ask "What's on my screen?" to receive a parsed summary of the content. When drafting a complex report email, the system can retrieve meeting notes, cross-reference calendars, and generate a comprehensive draft within the same workflow—significantly reducing time spent switching between applications.

For local files dragged into the interface, Qira extracts key points and prepares them for sharing via collaboration tools. During meetings, activating the "Pay Attention" function allows it to capture critical discussion points and automatically generate summaries and question lists.

On privacy, Lenovo Qira only engages when explicitly activated by the user or when specific functions are enabled. Users maintain control over permissions and can review or delete stored information. To balance user experience and trust, Qira employs a hybrid scheduling approach—processing tasks locally when possible, while using encrypted methods for cloud-based operations when necessary.
