Guangxi Promotes "DiDi-Style" Agricultural Machinery Service to Boost Spring Farming

Deep News03-13 21:31

In the past, agricultural machinery operators had to make numerous calls and rely on personal connections to find work, while some farmers struggled to find suitable operators or equipment, often missing crucial farming seasons as a result. Since the launch of Guangxi's "DiDi Agricultural Machinery" platform, these issues have been resolved. Our cooperative's service area has significantly expanded, and more small-scale farmers are now benefiting from the convenience of large agricultural machinery," said Huang Shaoyan, General Manager of Guangrong Agricultural Machinery Service Cooperative in Sanwu Town, Laibin City, Guangxi, on March 13.

That day, the 2026 Guangxi "Agricultural Machinery 3·15" Consumer Rights Day event, coupled with an on-site meeting showcasing how the "DiDi Agricultural Machinery" platform empowers spring farming preparations, was held in Laibin City, known as the "Granary of Central Guangxi." The event, themed "Enhancing Quality, Ensuring Production, Protecting Farmers, and Increasing Benefits," aimed to strengthen the quality control of agricultural machinery, safeguard farmers' legitimate rights and interests, and fully demonstrate the innovative "Internet + Agricultural Machinery" model, injecting strong technological momentum into spring farming production.

The Guangxi "DiDi Agricultural Machinery" platform is a WeChat mini-program developed by Guangxi to integrate agricultural machinery and farming task resources. It provides one-stop matching services for farmers and machinery operators. Farmers can easily find farming tasks or locate machinery, measure work areas, and settle payments in real-time, all through their mobile phones.

Huang Shaoyan indicated that the Guangxi "DiDi Agricultural Machinery" platform is user-friendly. Farmers simply need to post details such as the work period, location, and area, and the system promptly matches them with specific machinery and operators. This creates a win-win situation by increasing income for machinery operators and improving production efficiency for farmers.

Li Fengyun, Director and First-Level Inspector of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Agricultural Mechanization Service Center, explained that since the platform's launch, agricultural machinery can be "summoned with one click" directly to the fields via the mobile mini-program. This achievement is a vivid reflection of Guangxi's agricultural intelligent transformation. As of March 13, Guangxi had deployed 460,000 pieces of agricultural machinery, completing mechanized plowing on 20.11 million mu of land. The platform has registered over 7,300 users.

Li Fengyun stated that in 2026, Guangxi will fully leverage the primary role of agricultural machinery in production, focus on improving machinery quality, and actively promote socialized services such as cross-regional operations, contract plowing/planting, and托管 services. The goal is to seize farming seasons, enhance efficiency, and ensure orderly and safe agricultural production.

Guangxi will also capitalize on the platform's data aggregation capability to promote the creation of a "Spring Farming Heat Map." It will encourage smallholders to register their own machinery on the platform to ensure effective matching of operational demands, truly turning "iron cattle" into "cattle of prosperity" for rural revitalization.

Laibin City is the pioneer in Guangxi for trialing and promoting the "DiDi Agricultural Machinery" smart platform. Deng Yingwen, Vice Mayor of Laibin City, introduced that since its launch last November, the platform has attracted nearly 1,600 registered users, making the vision of "finding agricultural machinery as easy as hailing a ride" a reality.

On the same day, the organizers also held an exhibition of advanced agricultural machinery. Dozens of modern agricultural equipment suitable for hilly and mountainous areas, including rice transplanters, medium and small-sized tractors, and micro-tillers, were displayed in an orderly array, attracting many visitors who stopped to learn more. Attendees also watched demonstrations of intelligent and environmentally friendly agricultural machinery performing spring farming tasks.
