PATEO Shares Surge Over 12% in Late Trading, Gains Recognition as Member of National Robotics Standardization Committee

Stock News07-21

Shares of PATEO (02889) experienced a strong surge exceeding 12% during the late trading session.

At the time of reporting, the stock was up 11.95%, trading at HK$137.7 with a turnover of HK$38.35 million.

Key Development Driving the Move

The company has officially received its membership certificate for the Humanoid Robotics and Embodied Intelligence Standardization Technical Committee (MIIT/TC8/WG5) under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

This appointment positions PATEO as one of the few companies in the automotive smart cockpit sector selected to join the committee's application working group.

Significance of the Appointment

This recognition signifies that the company's technological expertise and practical implementation at the intersection of vehicle intelligence and embodied intelligence have gained acknowledgment from a national-level standardization platform.

Going forward, PATEO is set to participate deeply in the formulation of domestic industry standards for humanoid robots and embodied intelligence.

Recent Strategic Initiatives

It is noteworthy that in June of this year, PATEO announced its intention to acquire an optoelectronic chip company, marking a strategic extension into the upstream chip sector.

Subsequently, the company formally entered into a cooperation agreement with Fuyao University of Science and Technology to deploy silicon photonics and fourth-generation semiconductor technologies.

Analyst Perspective

Pacific Securities has commented that if the planned acquisition is completed, joint research yields laboratory progress, and technologies are successfully integrated into industrial platforms, the company could potentially develop new business drivers in AI computing infrastructure and in-vehicle optical communication, in addition to its existing smart automotive solutions.

This would render the industrial logic for its second growth curve more comprehensive.
