150 Primary School Art Teachers in Inner Mongolia Enhance Professional Skills

Deep News04-08

A training program for primary school music and fine arts teachers from county-level regions in Inner Mongolia commenced on April 8 in Hohhot. The program, part of the National Training Plan (2025), is organized by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's Department of Education and hosted by the Inner Mongolia Arts College. A total of 150 backbone teachers in music and fine arts from 12 leagues and cities across the region are participating.

The training is structured into three phases: 7 days of intensive study, 10 days of on-the-job shadowing, and 50 days of post-training practice. The intensive study segment includes expert lectures, case analysis, methodological guidance, group discussions, and preliminary outcome presentations, featuring 23 specialists. The shadowing phase emphasizes immersive observation, class demonstrations, participation in teaching research, and interactive Q&A sessions, with teachers visiting high-quality primary schools and museums in Hohhot's four urban districts. The final phase involves online guidance and outcome exchanges.

Focusing on addressing the shortage of qualified music and fine arts teachers in county-level primary schools, the program aims to systematically enhance participants' professional skills and teaching methods, cultivating educational leaders for rural areas.

Yuan Jingjing, a music teacher from Xilin Gol's Fifth Primary School, shared, "As art teachers in county-level schools, we often face challenges in skill upgrading and methodological innovation. Through this valuable National Training Plan opportunity, I am committed to overcoming these shortcomings and improving my capabilities. After the training, I will bring new concepts, methods, and skills back to my classroom, exploring bold practices to make lessons more dynamic and professional, ensuring children in county areas receive high-quality art education."
