The results of the 11th Guangdong Patent Awards have been officially announced. UBTECH ROBOTICS was awarded the Gold Prize for its invention patent titled "A Servo Motor and Its Control Method." This award represents the highest honor in the field of intellectual property established by the People's Government of Guangdong Province. This patent achieves multiple breakthroughs in the core technology for humanoid robots: the control precision of the servo drive is increased by three times, manufacturing costs are reduced by 75%, product size is decreased, weight is reduced by 40%, and torque density exceeds 100Nm/kg, significantly outperforming mainstream international manufacturers.

The servo drive is the core power source enabling movement in humanoid robots, and its cost can exceed 50% of the total machine cost. For humanoid robots to achieve flexible and precise motion, they must simultaneously meet the stringent requirements of being lightweight and having high motion accuracy. UBTECH ROBOTICS' award-winning patent utilizes innovative designs for the harmonic reducer, output section, support pillar, and sensors. While ensuring high output precision, it successfully applies a standard harmonic reducer to replace more expensive solutions, thereby substantially reducing the manufacturing costs of servo actuators and humanoid robots. Furthermore, it fully utilizes the internal space of the servo drive to achieve miniaturization and weight reduction, providing crucial support for reducing the overall weight and enhancing the movement agility of humanoid robots.

The practical application of this Gold Prize patent marks the beginning of the large-scale industrial use of lightweight servo drives in humanoid robots. It effectively addresses core challenges in the mass production of humanoid robots, such as high costs, heavy joints, and insufficient precision. The humanoid robot industry is highly technology-intensive, representing a deep integration of cutting-edge technology and high-end manufacturing. Only through continuous innovation can companies achieve stable and long-term development.

UBTECH ROBOTICS adheres to an innovation-driven development strategy, maintaining high-intensity investment in research and development. The company is deeply committed to a long-term approach, cultivating full-stack technology for humanoid robots and placing significant emphasis on the creation and protection of intellectual property. By the end of 2025, UBTECH ROBOTICS had been granted 2,985 patents, including 1,742 invention patents and 508 overseas patents, ranking first globally in the number of patents related to humanoid robots. This recent award not only confirms UBTECH ROBOTICS' independent innovation capabilities in the field of core robot components but also provides a solid technical foundation for reducing the overall cost of humanoid robots and accelerating their commercial adoption.
