Wuliangye Classic Fifth Generation Drops 2 Yuan, Edging Down from Recent Peak

Data collected over the past 24 hours shows that on August 18, among the 11 major baijiu products tracked, three rose, seven fell, and one stayed flat, with losers clearly dominating the session.

On the upside, Qinghua Fen 20 surged 7 yuan, lifting its average terminal retail price to 398 yuan, reversing a short-term pullback from recent highs and marking a fresh one-month peak. Xijiu Junpin climbed 4 yuan to 644 yuan, matching its one-month record after three consecutive gains. Qinghua Lang advanced 3 yuan to 707 yuan, extending gains after breaking above the 700-yuan threshold the previous day.

On the downside, Feitian Moutai slipped 2 yuan to an average terminal retail price of 1,782 yuan, continuing its high-level range-bound oscillation. Premium Moutai dropped 4 yuan to 2,488 yuan, ending a streak of sharp gains. Wuliangye Yibin Co.,Ltd.'s classic Fifth Generation fell 2 yuan to 805 yuan, easing slightly from its recent peak. Wuliangye 1618 declined 2 yuan to 821 yuan, retreating for a second straight day from elevated levels. Guojiao 1573 lost 3 yuan to 886 yuan, moving further away from its monthly high after two consecutive down sessions. Yanghe Dream Blue M6+ shed 4 yuan to 611 yuan, snapping a four-day winning streak. Gujing Gong Gu 20 dropped 5 yuan to 532 yuan, with its price center drifting moderately lower after a second straight decline. Shuijing Jian Nanchun held steady at 405 yuan for a third consecutive session, showing stable performance.

Today, the combined average terminal retail value of the 11 major products continued to face pressure, with the overall market price center moving lower. If one bottle of each product were bundled and sold together, the total price would be 10,079 yuan, down 8 yuan from yesterday and hitting a five-day low.

Daily data is sourced from approximately 200 collection points distributed reasonably across major regions nationwide, including but not limited to designated distributors, social distributors, e-commerce platforms, and retail outlets. Raw sampling data reflects actual transaction prices at terminal retail points over the past 24 hours, aiming to provide objective, scientific, and fully traceable market price information for major baijiu products.

With the official iMoutai platform launching sales of Feitian Moutai at 1,499 yuan per bottle on New Year's Day (raised to 1,539 yuan on March 31, and further to 1,639 yuan on July 18), and Premium Moutai at 2,299 yuan per bottle on January 9 (raised to 2,359 yuan on May 16), this new channel's magnetic pull on average terminal retail prices for both products has become increasingly evident. Daily price calculations follow a volume-weighted rule, and quantifiable prices from this channel have been incorporated into the terminal retail price computations for both products.

In other key industry news, on August 17, international investment bank Citigroup issued a research report reiterating a Buy rating on Kweichow Moutai. The bank noted that the company's second-quarter sales and net profit figures were relatively weak, largely due to the ongoing transition toward a direct sales model, which amplifies seasonal fluctuations in sales, a trend particularly pronounced during the traditionally soft second quarter. Looking ahead to the second half, given that Moutai implemented a new round of product price increases in July, Citigroup believes the company has an incentive to shift some inventory supply from the weak second quarter to the third quarter, which coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival peak consumption season. With investor sentiment having already bottomed out, the bank expects potential for accelerated sales in the latter half of the year.
