BenQ Holding (02581) has published its inaugural 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, detailing a year of reinforced corporate governance, upgraded clinical quality controls and broader sustainability commitments across its Nanjing and Suzhou hospital campuses.
Key governance developments • Board-led oversight: A three-tier ESG structure places ultimate responsibility with the seven-member Board, where independent directors represent 42.9% and women 28.6%. • Formalised policies: Updated Integrity Handbook and anti-corruption framework delivered 100 % staff training coverage; one violation of professional-conduct guidelines was recorded and sanctioned.
Medical quality and patient safety • Zero mortality in low-risk diagnosis groups at both hospitals in 2025, with Nanjing maintaining a 0 % rate for three consecutive years. • Antimicrobial stewardship lowered drug-use intensity to 37.06 (Nanjing) and 32.02 (Suzhou) defined daily doses per 100 patient-days, beating national Grade III benchmarks. • Critical-care capabilities expanded: Nanjing’s ICU deployed ECMO; Suzhou’s reperfusion rate for acute myocardial infarction and cerebral infarction sustained at 100 %. • Clinical pathway optimisation under DRG payment reform cut average paediatric pneumonia stay by 10.8 % and cost per case by 20.8 %.
Talent and workforce • Workforce totalled 3,996 (3,795 full-time), including more than 1,000 physicians; employee turnover held at 9.3 % for full-time staff. • Training intensity reached 980 hours per employee, with 100 % coverage in safety, compliance and professional development. • Both campuses certified as “Elderly-Friendly Medical Institutions” and Nanjing became Jiangsu’s first “Disability-Friendly Hospital.”
Environmental performance • Scope 1 emissions: 5,287 tCO₂-e; Scope 2: 27,837 tCO₂-e; combined intensity: 0.06 tCO₂-e per m². • Renewable energy: 1.34 MW rooftop solar generated 1.30 million kWh for self-consumption. • Water withdrawal totalled 0.79 million m³; discharge met 100 % compliance with China’s medical wastewater standards. • Medical waste managed under a closed-loop system; hazardous-waste volume reached 646 t with full compliant disposal and zero spills.
Supply chain and procurement • Active relationships with 1,616 China-based suppliers; all new contracts embed integrity and ESG clauses. • No suppliers were blacklisted for ESG violations in 2025.
Community and public-welfare engagement • Over 350 community health activities served more than 9,000 residents; internet hospital visits neared 30,000. • Volunteer network exceeded 5,100 members, providing 23,651 service hours; medical social-work teams supported end-of-life care, disability services and rare-disease assistance.
Strategic ESG targets Short-term goals (2026–30) focus on greenhouse-gas accounting, waste-handling optimisation and integration of ESG KPIs into management incentives. Medium- and long-term plans include phased carbon-reduction roadmaps, regional smart-health expansion and net-zero ambitions by 2050.
BenQ Holding’s 2025 ESG release underscores its intent to align clinical excellence with responsible governance, environmental stewardship and inclusive growth as it transitions into post-listing operations on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
